Many times I have almost side swiped cars that are on the side of me due to my not being able to see our of my side mirrors. Also front light keeps going out. I have changed it 3 times in two months and it keeps either going out or falling out of the hole making the indicator light come on.

We have had some snow here in new york this past winter. It seems as if there may be a design flaw with the windshield wiper. For whatever reason the windshield wiper on the right hand side popped.

Per the dealer this outside influence voided the guarantee as there was ice under the cowl where the arm is connected to the motor. The photo in the attachment shows the area in question. What gets me is the "ice buildup" that caused this to happen most likely came from the defroster.

The snow melts and drains down into the area in question. I'm enclosing a copy of my correspondence with the BMW dealer. I'm letting mother nature get rid of the ice. The design might work in florida. It's a design defect that, if you ask me, should be covered! Yesterday, the doors on my i wouldn't unlock with the key fob. The door to the gas tank is also locked. So I noticed ever since I bought my car, that the passenger side windshield wiper spray nozzle never actually sprayed enough to reach the windshield. It kind of just dripped out. Driver's side was fine, so I knew it couldn't be the motor.

Both nozzles feed off one line so if the motor was bad, they both wouldn't work. I figuered there had to be some blockage or a leak. Checking the lines didn't produce any results, and there were no signs of leaking washer fluid. I began to inspect further-took everything apart to find that the problem seemed to be isloated at the plastic valve underneath the nozzle itself that connects to the line.

You will hear a slight click when it is free. Now that it is free, you can unattach from the plastic valve. This is accomplisd by pulling the two apart. There is a small nipple on the end of the nozzle, the two are force together. Pull forcefully. Now you can remove the plastice valve that is attached to the wiper fluid line. This is the part we will be replacing. It also has a nipple on the end and is forced into the washer fluid line. It is secured with a small metal tension clip. I simply loosened it with a pair of needle nose pliers just enough to free the nipple on the plastic valve cap.

Pull it apart leaving the metal clip attached to the line. Install the new plastic valve in the washer line, and retighten the metal clip. A quick squeeze using the needle nose pliers accomplishes this. Now reattach the valve to the nozzle head. This is done easiest by working from the out side of the car leaning against the windshield, coming from under the lifted hood.

Forcing the nozzle head into the new valve will be difficult as the new valve has not been 'stretched' out yet. Reattach nozzle head to hood. Slipping it in reverse the way you pulled it out. Again it will click into place. Now reattach the black engine pad using the plastic screws and washers. Next you might have to check the angle of the metal spouts inside the nozzle itself.
